Blog Cam Video ~ Michael Franti

Michael Franti stopped by and played a song for WDST and about 5 lucky people. I was there with my trusty little camera...

Enjoy!

Through the Lens of Dino Perrucci!

YELL Fabulous!

Michael Franti & Spearhead just completed an electrifying set here as the sun beamed bright over the mountain side. The crowd was like puddy in Franti's hands. Thousands jumping in unison with their hands high in the air. It was a breathtaking view as the sun set towards the end of the set. Warren Haynes stepped up to join Spearhead to close the amazing set of music. Citizen Cope is now on the stage. It's now dark and Mule is primed to take it to another level tonight. A special fireworks display will follow Mule's second set. DSO late night... I think I may take a power nap! ;)

~ Lightning Break ~

Well lightning struck during Ray LaMontagne's set and everybody ran like mad for cover into the main lodge. A little food and a drum circle later and we are back live to the stage. Ray is finishing his set and Jackie Green is here and ready to follow.

Sharon Jones & J.J. Grey kicked ass. There just isn't much music played like those guys these days. It was such a treat to see those two back to back.

Earlier, I got a chance to sit down with Michael Franti and ask him a few questions and I will throw up the video of that later. Franti also stoped by the WDST Radio remote studio here at Mtn. Jam and played an acoustic song for us. It was just an incredible moment. Well guess what? Yes... I video taped it! I am uploading that video as we speak. I should be able to post that later today.

Bring on Spearhead! Lets see if we can make this three Mtn. jams in a row of dancing in the rain for Michael Franti & Spearhead!

Turn Up The Radio!

WDST is hard at work as usual hosting Mountain Jam IV with the best coverage on the dial. Check out WDTS.com and listen to the stream and crank it load. They will have artist interviews as they leave the stage and all the latest up-to-the-minute news you can use on the festival.

Grace Potter kicks it with the WDST Crew!
Perks of the biz!

~ O'Death ~

"This New York band draws from the starkness and spiritual purity of Appalachian folk, the noisemongering of punk and the rowdy theatricality of Tom Waits. With quiet pluckings of banjo and angry, anarchic hollers, its songs jumble the sacred and profane"

-The New York Times

greg jamie - vocals, guitar
gabe darling - backing vocals, ukulele, guitar, banjo, piano
davd rb - drums, whoop
bob pycior - fiddle, guitar, piano
othar the tooth collector - bass
dan sager - trombone, euphonium, keys

Day Two Music is On!

Sgt. Dunbar & the Hobo Banned has taken the West Stage to a light mist of rain. We had a nice shower about 15 minutes ago, It came down pretty hard. The WDST Radio crew and I are pretending to be meteorologists and we think the real bad weather will stay saftly away. I will continue to monitor the Satilite and Dobbler Radar images radar and keep you posted!

Good Mornin' Mountain Jam!

Well Alright! It's Day 2..,
.
and what and action packed day it will be.

Yesterday was simply amazing here in the high altitude. The music, the people, the food, the awareness was awesome. But it is the kind vibe that permeates through the entire festival that makes this gathering so special. I will be going back before this post to add more amazing photos from yesterday. So be sure to scroll back. I also shot some incredable video, including the sick jam between Warren & Bayless during Sugaree. I also have the setlist and backstage coverage. So hang tight and keep checking back here often.

There will be Tibetan Morning Blessings at 11:30 in the Awareness Village and I will be sure to do a "no rain" blessing and dance!
