Mountain Jam is donating a portion of the ticket proceeds to HeadCount (generally 50 cents per ticket – a penny per state for democracy).
Mountain Jam & Headcount want to support voter registration and remind everyone that it’s an election year and together we can make a difference! The “Cents for Sense” campaign is expected to raise over $75,000 for HeadCount’s nonprofit, nonpartisan voter registration efforts.
“If we don’t protect democracy today, there won’t be a democracy to protect in a few years,” said former Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir, a member of HeadCount’s board of directors, in a statement. “I think for the younger folks this is particularly important, because the decisions we make will largely affect the rest of their lives.”
